My "design-to-rent" contract with Master Arts Theatre in Grand Rapids, MI gave me an opportunity to create many new Biblical costumes that are now part of my collection.

The director, Timothy Van Bruggen, asked for the Magi biblical costumes to be styled after Zoroastrian historic ceremonial clothing - all white, with a gold sash and "upward arrow" motif.
I wanted to provide a cohesive look for women's dance scene, so I used a muted color palate. To add visual interest, I added textured overlays and created a variety of headwear designs.
This tattered burlap tunic, with skin overlay and belt contribute to the wild and beaten down look of John in prison.
I purchased the metal Roman helmets and made new red tunics. The armor and capes belonged to Master Arts Theatre, so I still plan to make new leather armor for my own collection. I specifically want to create a complete "Armor of God" costume that can be rented out for Children's programs.
